Before registering, please read this important information.
Consist of ten, half-hour classes per group of four, over two weeks. These classes are appropriate for children aged 3 or over (including older children) who are beginners or working on more advanced skills. We do not have swim “levels”, the instructor will advance each student from where he/she is. Your child will be taught to swim in one 10-day session.
Consist of five, one-hour classes per group of four, over one week. Because these classes require more stamina, they are designed for swimmers aged 6+ who are already comfortable swimmers. This is a great tune-up for summer swim team or junior lifeguards! Swimmers will be taught the competitive swim strokes, starting with freestyle, then backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Each swimmer will progress through the strokes at their own speed. Some may need more than one session to become competent in all four strokes.
note: Stroke lessons can be scheduled during regular learn-to-swim sessions, but they may need to follow the two-week schedule format.
If you are not able to arrange a host pool, you can still register your child for lessons in one of two ways. You can REGISTER TO BE ON A WAITLIST: you will be offered placement for your child in a local area where space is available. (Note: If your scheduling needs are very specific for time, date, or location, you may wish to arrange your own pool as options can be limited at particular times or sessions. Openings in groups are often filled by the host and then any remaining spots are offered to the waitlist in order of registration.)
The other option is to JOIN A SCHEDULED SWIM GROUP: you can register your child to join a group that you have been invited to join by a friend or neighbor (code required).
If you would like to host one or more groups at your pool, you will be contacted to schedule a date/time once your registration has been received. For anyone who hosts two or more consecutive full groups, there is a discount offered.
For learn-to-swim groups, lessons may only be held in private, backyard pools that maintain a temperature of 90 degrees. (Rules are slightly different for stroke groups, but the pool temperature is crucial to maximizing the progress of younger swimmers.) Pools must be large enough that a child has to take 3-4 strokes to swim across the shorter direction and have a deck edge that children can hold onto on at least one side. Please upload a photo of your pool on the registration form if you are not sure if it is adequate for hosting lessons.
